Group Visit To Big River Bindery

Alternative Process Social (APS) is starting the new year with a group visit to Big River Bindery (@bigriverbindery), a studio for the book arts run by Andrew Huot, a book conservator and book artist. Andrew has taught at several bookbinding institutions, including the Ontario College of Art and Design University. He holds a Masters in Book Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His artists’ books use photographs, linoleum cuts, and text, and some can be found in collections such as the Art Institute of Chicago and Yale University.

Andrew does hand bookbinding and conservation for institutions and individuals. He makes custom portfolios for editions of prints, one-of-a-kind bindings to pitch to publishers, and collaborates on artists’ book projects. He also teaches artists to make books and letterpress print.
