An exhibition of historical + experimental photographic processes
May 9–11, 2025

Opening May 9th at Daylight Studio Toronto, the exhibition features artists exploring historical and experimental photographic techniques such as cyanotypes, salt prints, and wet plate collodion.

While rooted in tradition, these methods are used to express contemporary ideas, reflecting on identity, memory, and the complexity of modern life. The artists behind in other words… are united by a shared passion for alternative processes and a desire to challenge the conventions of modern photography. The show emphasizes the materiality and meditative nature of historical and experimental image-making, where process and meaning are deeply intertwined.

This immersive and tactile exhibition invites viewers to slow down, connect with the medium, and reconsider how photography communicates. It’s a celebration of the handmade, the imperfect, and the unpredictable.
